​School milk and health

Children more than double their weight and height between the ages of 2 and 12, and lay the foundation for their bodies that will last their lifetime. Proper nutrition during these years is vital.

The lack of certain vitamins and minerals in a child’s diet causes both physical damage and impacts on mental development. Many school feeding programmes distribute fortified products. We work with several industry partners on fortification of food. Milk, juice and cereal-based drinks can be fortified with the right mix of micronutrients to suit a given group of children.

School feeding improves the health of school children and encourages poor families to send their children to school.
