Innovative one-step blending and pasteurisation of fruit juices
For companies in the beverage industry, innovation and time-to-market are key topics for future success. Demands from consumers for innovative and value-added foods mean more recipes, product changeovers and stock-keeping units, as well as shorter product life-cycles.
Tetra Pak aims to meet customers’ needs through continuous development work, and one example is the development of RHAC (Rapid Heating And Cooling) technology. RHAC technology is an entirely new, one-step technology for continuous blending and pasteurisation of fruit juices, nectars and ice teas. The aim was to meet juice producers’ needs for flexibility while at the same time contributing to higher profitability.
The new RHAC technology, included in the Tetra Therm Aseptic Sensa, pasteurises the concentrate by steam injection, then blends it to the desired strength with cold, sterile water, making it possible to process the exact volumes needed, just in time to the filling machine, and to change products efficiently with minimal product losses compared to conventional systems.
Cost savings up to 50%
RHAC technology enables production cost savings of up to 50% and a production uptime increase of 25% – while at the same time improving product quality.
