Programme funding
School feeding programme funding comes from a variety of sources, from governments or regional authorities, international or local grants or from parents.
Government funding is the most common model. Suppliers often offer favourable deals on products or distribution to bring down the cost of feeding.
Agricultural and industrial development programmes often require different types of support such as grants for technical assistance, loans, access to venture capital and equipment financing solutions.
We have worked with a number of financial institutions, including the World Bank/IFC, Regional Development Banks, United Nations Agencies and National Development Agencies. Other sources of funding are private foundations and individual donations from royal families or the business community.
Together with local partners we approach funding agencies and provide assistance in project planning, feasibility studies, market research and application writing. We aim to develop successful concepts that can be repeated and form long-term relationships with financial institutions and donors.
We do not offer funding directly. We offer equipment finance solutions on commercial terms, knowledge and expertise, expecially in the processing and packaging of food.
Donations from Tetra Pak and Tetra Pak employees are not handled by the Food for Development Office.
