Tetra Pak receives international award for production quality and efficiency

Record 11 factories recognized by world leading performance management institute

Tetra Pak packaging materials production plants in Monte Mor and Ponta Grossa Brazil received the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Advanced Special Award by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) in an award ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan on March 12.

This certification award in represents the fourth stage of excellence in the five-stage JIPM programme, which began as an initiative of Toyota in the 1960s.

“Tetra Pak is continuously striving to better meet customer expectations in terms of time, quality and efficiency. The TPM methodology is a way of reducing waste, improving production quality and ensuring continuous improvement by involving all employees in the factory, said Paulo Picca, Director, World Class Manufacturing, Packaging Material, Tetra Pak. He noted that Tetra Pak is one of a few companies in the world to have reached this level of achievement.

Tetra Pak received a record 11 different JIPM awards during the past year. The recognised factories include Jurong in Singapore, La Rioja in Argentina, Denton in Texas, Izmir in Turkey, Foshan in China, Queretaro in Mexico, Berlin and Limburg in Germany and Lahore in Pakistan.
