Tetra Pak supports National Recycling Week
Tetra Pak today announces its support for National Recycling Week (7-13 November), the next step in its long-standing partnership with Planet Ark. The week is an initiative of Planet Ark and aims to bring a national focus on recycling and improving the environmental benefits of kerbside, industrial and community recycling programs.
“National Recycling Week is a highly-effective education campaign that encourages all Australians to recycle, through a series of fun and engaging initiatives. We’re delighted to be involved and supporting this great cause,“ said Cheryl Speechley, Environment Manager for Tetra Pak Oceania.
“Tetra Pak is committed, both in Australia and globally, to raising consumer awareness about the benefits of recycling and the importance of environmentally-sound and sustainable practices. Tetra Pak cartons are recyclable, and 92 per cent of Australians have access to kerbside recycling.”
Now in its 16th year, National Recycling Week is an established and well-regarded annual education and awareness campaign.
Initiatives throughout the week include:
• The Schools Recycle Right Challenge, aimed at engaging students with recycling;
• The Friday File Fling, aimed at increasing the number of businesses and workplaces involved;
• The Big Aussie Swap, promoting community re-use and council recycling campaigns; and
• The Recycle Right Quiz, aimed at improving the understanding of kerbside recycling.
“Tetra Pak encourages all Australians to think about how they can get involved with their local recycling campaigns, particularly during National Recycling Week. Recycling is a simple and easy step everybody can take to reduce our impact on the environment and promote long-term environmental sustainability,” concluded Speechley.
