Energy use is a major cause of environmental impact – from local and regional air pollution to global impacts such as climate change. Fossil fuels such as coal and oil account for about 80% of man-made greenhouse gas emissions, mainly carbon dioxide.

Energy efficiency and renewable energy are the key tool to reduce CO2 emissions and achieving the Tetra Pak's global Climate Goal.
