Waste

Waste is a measure of how efficient material resources are used. Production waste reduction is key both to reducing cost and environmental impact. Moreover, the waste generated must be managed in an environmentally sound way. Tetra Pak aims to reduce waste sent to landfill, in favour of material recycling and incineration with energy recovery.

Within Tetra Pak, the largest waste quantities are generated in factories producing packaging material or packaging components. We monitor both the waste quantity in relation to raw material input, and the waste handling, i.e., recycling, incineration with and without energy recovery, and landfilling.
