Our Legacy

The 40’s. This was the era of building a bright new future. And the start of one of the world’s largest packaging companies. This is when our founder, Dr. Ruben Rausing started to develop a milk package that “should save more than it costs”. In other words, a package that required a minimum of material while providing maximum hygiene and benefits. The idea for our first package, the tetrahedron-shaped Tetra Classic carton was born.

On May 18th, 1951 a new packaging system is presented to the press. Tetra Pak is founded.
