LCA Food Containers
Comparative Study on Food Containers – USA & Canada, 2006
This peer-reviewed scientific study on food containers compared the Tetra Recart food package to the steel can. All life cycle steps, from the extraction of raw materials and the production of the food container to manufacturing, transportation to food producers and filling, distribution to retailers, as well as postconsumer disposal and recycling were looked at, according to the ISO 14040 series' standards. The results of the study address energy consumption, solid waste generation and environmental emissions to water and air at each step.
