Extrusion lines - Tetra Hoyer Straightline SL-F2

Reduce energy consumption / kg ice cream mix by 20% with extrusion

The new design of the Tetra Hoyer Straightline SL-F2 cooling tunnel – with much more efficient air flow and freezing control – enables a reduction of typically 15 percent of the energy needed to freeze extruded products down to the required core temperature below -18ºC, compared to previous designs, including those of competitors.

For a production line making 36,000 sticks/hour and operating 5,000 hours per year, this saves 500,000 kWh. Environmental performance improves by reducing CO2 emissions, and running cost is decreased.

The focus on hygienic frame design and minimizing warm air infiltration from the production room also secures long intervals between required defrosting and cleaning, enabling a full 24 hours of production for 6 days of continuous operation – and thus much higher OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).

The new SL-F2 cooling tunnel also decreases the time and water it takes to clean a full line.
