Traceability secures food safety
To the consumer, food safety simply means relying on the food you consume. To the producer it means so much more. Food safety relies on the ability to trace the source of foods every step throughout the food chain.
Traceability is the methodology and thinking behind the concept of food safety. Traceability requires transparency, complete automation control and monitoring of every step throughout the production process from reception to the finished goods warehouse.
Our concept Traceability, enabled through integrated Tetra PlantMaster and PLMS Centre solutions, secures food safety and product quality. Through Quality Assurance Critical Control Points, the product is continuously monitored to keep track on various parameters such as ingredients, raw materials, operational procedures, parameters, processing and packaging equipment.
The key to Traceability is the unique printed code on each package and distribution unit. Traceability is made transparent to retailers and consumers via an internet portal where the consumer can key in the code from their package. A webpage opens up displaying all relevant information including a Google map where each collection point/farmer is pinpointed, indicating where the raw milk is sourced from. Furthermore, the Tetra PlantMaster Mobile applications strengthens the consumer trends allowing access to the websites from an smart phone (iPhone, android).
Traceability allows food companies to make claims of food safety it enables them to differentiate their brands and gives opportunities for export.
Traceability for productivity
Traceability is all about collecting and analyzing production data. Data that can also be used to identify bottlenecks, improve production planning, monitor environmental key performance indicators, optimise throughput and secure reliability in the equipment.
Tetra PlantMaster in combination with PLMS Centre is an innovative and modular plant automation solution the benchmark in food industry automation technology. Standard software and hardware keep maintenance and service to a minimum, and the open system structure encourages future expansion possibilities.
