Olive oil

Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants, particularly vitamin E. Olive oil brings many cardiovascular and digestive benefits, making Mediterranean diets among the healthiest in the world.

The oil is very sensitive to light and air, which quickly cause it to oxidise, go rancid and lose vitamin E. It is very important to package the oil correctly to stop it from going “off”.

Protection against light

Recently, people have used tin cans to package the oil, and nowadays plastic and glass bottles are the most commonly used type of container. The problem is that translucent packaging leaves the oil open to attack. A carton package provides an excellent solution. We have developed several partnerships with olive oil producers, similar to the one with ArteOliva, a Spanish oil producer that packages olive oil in Tetra Prisma Aseptic and Tetra Brik Aseptic packages.
