Seriwarni Bersiram

A Malaysian treat that leaves one wanting back for more!

You’ll need

Ingredient A
100ml soy milk in Tetra Pak carton
100ml low fat milk in Tetra Pak carton
100ml water
400gm glutinous rice flour
½ teaspoon blue, red, green and yellow food colouring
½ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
150gm blueberry jam
300gm yam
2 pandan leaves
Water (for boiling)

Ingredient B
100ml coconut milk in Tetra Pak carton
150 ml strawberry flavoured milk in Tetra Pak carton
1 pandan leaf
2 tablespoons custard powder
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons sweet corn

For Garnishing
2 pieces triangle love letter biscuits
2 pieces rolled chocolate
1 stalk of mint leaves
1 orange
100gm cherries

Method for Ingredient A
1. Mix water, soy milk, low fat milk and salt with glutinous rice flour and knead into dough. Divide into five portions.
2. Mix four portions of the dough with the food colouring and leave one without.
3. Knead each dough into several balls.
4. Put blueberry jam as filling for the balls.
5. Boil water with pandan leaves in it and add in the balls until it floats. Leave to cool.
6. Dice the yam and boil with sugar on low heat until they are tender. Toss until dry.
7. Arrange the balls and yam in a container.

Method for Ingredient B
1. Boil coconut milk with strawberry flavoured milk.
2. Add in pandan leaves, sugar and salt as needed.
3. Dissolve custard powder and pour into the coconut milk mixture. Stir on low heat until it thickens.
4. When it’s cooked, pour over Ingredient A. Sprinkle the sweet corn and it’s ready to be served. Garnish as you wish.
