Single-Pass Tea Extraction System

Tetra Pak’s single-pass tea extraction system is a semi-continuous system for extracting good quality RTD tea from tea leaves. The tea extract is cooled, clarified (where required) and formulated, heat treated and packaged in downstream processing equipment.

The extraction process can be divided into the following steps:

• batching in tea leaves
• filling the extractor with water and wetting tea leaves
• continuous extraction
• stopping and recovery of extract in extractor
• discharge spent tea leaves
• prepare next extraction cycle
