Drying whey powder
Drying of whey powder is done with a Tetra Magna Dryer WB. It can be equipped with either a rotary atomizer or high pressure (HP) nozzles. The HP nozzles give you the possibility to run both agglomerated and non-agglomerated products. The lances and nozzles are exectued with a swivel system, giving the possibility to change the position thereby influencing the final powder functionalities.
Product is fed (with typically 60 to 62% TS) into the drying chamber and dried using drying air. Powder is finally dried in the well-mixed section of the Tetra Magna Shaking Fluid Bed. In the plug flow section, product is cooled down to the required temperature, ready to be transported. Exhaust air can be cleaned with cyclones or a CIPable bag filter.
