Our customers use Tetra Pak equipment to process and package their products. We work with them to minimise waste and spoilage while reducing energy and water consumption – keeping efficiencies up and costs down. In this way, we help increase the value of our customers’ brand and lead the food industry towards sustainable growth.
Tetra Pak® Ice Cream Filler A3 is designed specifically for small- to medium-sized producers looking to lower operating costs and increase flexibility, with minimal investment. The new filler produces up to 18,000 ice cream cones per hour, with three enhanced components that are also available individually as line upgrades: a cone dispenser with high reliability and size flexibility; an easy-to-operate chocolate sprayer with exceptional accuracy; and a precise lid dispenser, which improves standardisation. These features reduce waste, minimise stops and increase overall speed, while ensuring product quality.
Our ambition is to deliver a package that contributes to a low carbon and ultimately climate neutral circular economy, that is, a package made entirely from renewable and/or recycled materials that is fully recyclable, without ever compromising on food safety requirements.
In 2018, we started to restructure our packaging portfolio innovation strategy around a vision of the ideal beverage carton package. This ‘ideal carton’ is made solely from renewable and/or recycled packaging materials, it is 100% recyclable, and it fits into a low carbon circular economy without ever compromising food safety requirements.
Tetra Pak® Homogenizer 500 delivers the lowest Total Cost of Ownership in the industry for the beverage and dairy homogenization. Its high capacity gives the homogenization process scale of economy, which combined with efficient homogenization devices, enables the highest homogenization efficiency and lowest operational costs on the market.
The homogenizers are equipped with a high-temperature condensate aseptic barrier that protects food safety and a serial cooling system. These combine to cut steam consumption by 70% and cooling water consumption by 80% compared to conventional solutions.
The world’s first retortable food carton is a more environmentally sound packaging alternative for foods normally packed in cans or jars, such as vegetables, tomatoes, ready meals, soups, sauces and pet food.
Made mainly from Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) certified paperboard, Tetra Recart is the first paper-based packaging material rugged enough to withstand the retorting process.
Protective panels built around the Tetra Pak® Tubular Heat Exchanger encapsulate the equipment and contain the heat. This gives up to 6% savings on energy consumption. With added insulation, savings go up to 11%. The panels also increase operator safety since they reduce the risk of contact with hot surfaces.
Recycling is key to the future of our business. A circular economy depends on sustainable recycling value chains, which ensure cartons are collected, sorted and recycled so they keep delivering value.
When a recycling value chain is working well, it also prevents littering, saves resources and reduces climate impact. To ensure our recycling efforts are aligned across our business, in 2018, Tetra Pak established new circular economy teams, organised in our global sustainability function.
True sustainability means that the sum total of our activities across the value chain should make a positive impact on the planet. With this "Planet Positive" mindset, we can take sustainability much further so that our collective actions add up to solve some of our greatest environmental challenges. Because today, it’s no longer enough to think about global environmental issues such as climate and waste in isolation.
