Environment
Tetra Pak believes that all companies have a role to play as far as running their business in an environmentally sustainable way. Based on the United Nation’s definition which states that sustainability is to "meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs", Tetra Pak’s goals are designed to enhance our operations running in an environmentally sound manner: from energy reduction in our plants, to manufacturing equipment that runs on less water and energy, to the development of new recycling technologies.
We also believe that food packaging should save more than it costs. It’s all about being better for the environment and making business sense. Although no packaging yet is fully sustainable, Tetra Pak is committed to being a leader in sustainable packaging. In 1996, our shelf stable package was granted the President’s Council on Sustainable Development award by Al Gore. It makes us very proud to know we are in the right path.
