GO GREEN WITH TETRA PAK
An initiative to promote recycling of Tetra Pak cartons
The highlight of the initiative under its 'Bin Se Bench Tak' campaign donated 100 garden benches made from recyclable Tetra Pak cartons of which 2 are prominently placed at Worli Sea face for Mumbaikars.
Objectives:
- To raise awareness among the smart shoppers and members of the household about recycling.
- To educate the consumers about the benefits of recycling.
- To help the consumers to find a collection point where they can dispose the used carton beverages responsibly
Go Green with Tetra Pak has also been featured in the Limca Book of Records, 2013.

Results
With increased awareness, the program encourages citizens to exercise their responsibility as consumers to deposit used cartons for recycling at any of the >230 deposit points across Mumbai, including 54 Sahakari Bhandar, Reliance Fresh & Reliance Smart stores.
Through 11 years of concerted efforts of all stakeholders,
- We have over 230 deposit points across the city of Mumbai.
- We have collected over 80,00,000 cartons till date through this initiative alone, and donated over 400 school desks and over 100,000 other items fully made from recycled cartons to lesser-privileged schools
The program has found recognition in Limca Book of Records 2013 for its unique innovative model for community
Bin Se Bench Tak (from the Bin to the Bench)
This is a campaign under which a community is given a collection target (Eg. 10,000 used cartons), in return for which they earn a bench. They may collect cartons to earn a garden bench for their own community, or they may donate/pledge it to someone else. In both cases, the real recycle garden bench is proof of the fruits of their action.
Cartons Le Aao, Classroom Banao (bring used cartons, and build a classroom)
This campaign encourages consumers to deposit cartons at any of the deposit centres, which will then be recycled into desks for a lesser privileged school. The beauty of this campaign is that we complete the loop for the consumers. Communities can pledge a desk to a school of their choice, or simply collect the cartons and we donate it to the right school. In either case, the community is invited to the donation events, to bring alive the impact of their action. 400 school desks and over 100,000 other items fully made from recycled cartons
