Paris, April 29 2025 - Standing Ovation, a French biotechnology pioneer specialized in the production of alternative proteins and an expert in precision fermentation applied to dairy proteins, and Tetra Pak® announce a strategic partnership to optimize the industrial production of alternative caseins via precision fermentation.
After concluding an initial strategic agreement with Ajinomoto Foods Europe for the industrial development of its production capacities, Standing Ovation continues to consolidate its industrial strategy by joining forces with another industry leader : Tetra Pak®. The aim of this partnership is to optimize the separation and purification processes for its alternative proteins, while benefiting from the most advanced technologies on the market, for industrialization purposes.
The agreement is based on the complementary expertise of the two companies :
Standing Ovation, a pioneer in the production of alternative caseins by precision fermentation, brings its patented technology and unique know-how in animal-free dairy proteins.
Tetra Pak, a global player in food processing & packaging solutions, is pursuing its ambitions in New Food innovations and processes by supporting a pioneer in the sector.
The aim of this collaboration is to accelerate the industrialization of fermentative casein, and to offer the food industry sustainable, high-performance, scalable solutions.
The partnership between Standing Ovation and Tetra Pak includes several strategic components :
Optimizing Downstream Processing (DSP) operations: improving protein separation and purification processes.
Industrial technology support: supply of equipment and turnkey solutions adapted to Standing Ovation's patented technology.
Support for scale-up: design and construction of pilot and industrial units for large-scale production of alternative caseins.
Thanks to this collaboration, Standing Ovation will be able to structure its industrialization and accelerate the market launch of its flagship protein Advanced Casein®, an innovative and sustainable alternative to animal proteins.
This partnership marks a new stage in the evolution of Standing Ovation, which relies on major industrial players to structure its development. Co-founded in 2020 by microbiologist and agronomist Romain Chayot, Standing Ovation is a French company specializing in precision fermentation. Winner of the French Tech 2030 program, it enjoys the support of the French government and major investors for its industrialization. In 2022, Standing Ovation signed a strategic partnership with the Bel Group. With its technology, the company has developed its first patented ingredient, an advanced casein called Advanced Casein®, very low in CO2 emissions, frugal in water and land use, with nutritional, taste and functional qualities equivalent to those of protein from livestock farming. Standing Ovation plans to market its flagship protein in the United States as early as 2025, and aims to become a world leader in food and environmental processing.
