TETRA PAK AND SUNWARE COLLABORATE TO RECYCLE BEVERAGE PACKAGING INTO NEW CIRCULAR PRODUCTS

Amsterdam, 4 February 2026 — Tetra Pak announces a new collaboration with Sunware, a leading Dutch brand in storage and household solutions, to promote the circular use of materials from recycled beverage cartons. The cooperation demonstrates how PolyAl, a recycled material sourced from used beverage cartons, can be converted into high-quality, practical consumer products.

Sunware contributes to the circular economy with a new product combining its expertise in household organisation with recycled PolyAl material, demonstrating how packaging waste can be reused in high-quality products.

The new product will be presented at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt (hall 9.2, B20) and will be available through Sunware's sales channels from the second quarter of 2026.

For Tetra Pak, this collaboration is a concrete example of its ongoing commitment to promoting the circularity of beverage packaging. PolyAl is an important result of the cardboard recycling process and consists of layers of polymer and aluminium. Collaborations with companies like Sunware in using PolyAl to create sustainable and market-ready products, Tetra Pak is helping to increase the value of recycled materials and strengthen the end markets for cardboard recycling.

‘This collaboration demonstrates how innovative cooperations can unlock the full potential of recycled beverage packaging,’ says Stephanie Lahad, Head of Sustainability, France and Benelux ‘By supporting the use of PolyAl in new applications, we are taking steps towards a more circular economy, while enabling partners to create high-quality products with a lower environmental impact.’

Sunware also welcomes this collaboration as an important step in its sustainability efforts. ‘We are delighted with this successful collaboration and the launch of this new product,’ says Isebel van Erve, Product Marketer at Sunware. ‘The use of PolyAl fits perfectly with our ambition to offer smart, functional products while reducing our environmental footprint.’

This initiative supports Tetra Pak's broader sustainability strategy, which focuses on designing recyclable packaging, increasing recycling rates and increasing the use of recycled materials in new products. By encouraging collaborations across the value chain, Tetra Pak continues to play an active role in developing viable, scalable solutions for circular packaging systems.
