Putting the right co-packer together with the right brand or label owner is good for everyone involved. It’s good for the co-packer as they are more likely to operate at full, or close to full, capacity. It’s good for the brand or label owner as they find the packing solution they need without having to invest in the associated infrastructure, and it’s good for Tetra Pak as more Tetra Recart cartons are on supermarket shelves. It’s even good for the environment, as the more our sustainable solutions are used, the lower CO2 emissions become. But how does the matchmaking process work in practice?

“Matchmaking can work in a variety of ways,” explains Mattias Glimbrand, Solution Manager for Tetra Pak. “We recommend co-packers from our side based on product type and quality demands, as well as geographical specifications and other factors, depending on what the brand or label owner needs. We have people in many markets, so we also work pro-actively on behalf of both parties, and when we know more details about the opportunity, we share the necessary information. The account managers in the markets are also informed, and we put the brand or label owner and co-packer in contact. From our side, we then follow up and offer support all the way up to when the product hits the shelves.”

This is partly why Tetra Recart packages can be found all over the world, since Tetra Pak has operations in many countries with dedicated packaging lines serving a variety of our customers. A proven concept

Tetra Pak has already helped a number of brands find their ideal co-packers. One was an iconic soup brand in Australia, that had been off the market for a long time. They were looking to come back, but only wanted to do so in a carton. Tetra Recart was the ideal solution, and they were matched with a co-packer in Italy who were able to offer everything they needed. Now the soup is back on the shelves in Australia in packaging with a striking, eye-catching design, and the response has been very positive.
