Tetra Pak® Multi section extrusion nozzle takes two-colour ice cream production to a new level. With this unique solution, you can produce innovative, precise and true-to-original two-colour ice cream designs in an easy, highly cost-efficient and repeatable way.
The distributor divides two product flows – which can be ice cream or water-based – into twelve separate flow channels. Each of these twelve flows can be individually controlled through a valve. The valves have a position indicator, so the settings are documented. Reusing the same settings guarantees repeatable and precise product design.
The valves are very easy to adjust. But what about making a second, and a third and a fourth product? Well, here’s where the solution takes cost-efficiency to another level. Tetra Pak® Multi section extrusion nozzle consists of two parts. To change product, simply replace the nozzle and adjust the valve settings. There is no need to change distributor.
Not so long ago, ice cream stick shaping was all about so-called “funny faces”. True, they are still very much an important product category, and the Tetra Pak® Multi section extrusion nozzle is indeed perfect for making true-to-original ice cream portrayals of animal, fairy tale or cartoon characters. And you can also use the solution to explore innovations for more grown-up target groups – for example, by combining traditional ice cream and sherbet or fruit-based products.
Both distributor and nozzle are 3D printed. From a food safety perspective, this is excellent. As there is no welding, there are no cavities or “hidden” areas where bacteria can grow – which means you minimise the risks of contamination. The valve system minimises product waste, and the distributor is fully CIPable. It can stay in place during cleaning – you only have to disassemble the nozzle part and replace it with the CIP collector.
