Membrane Installation Tool

Do you always need an extra hand with membrane installation?

Tetra Pak’s easy-to-use tool supports the membrane elements and ensures that they are aligned correctly with seals: the anti-scoping device (ATD) or the energy-saving ATD (ESA).

Highlights

  • Improved work environment for employees responsible for maintaining your filtration system
  • Substantial time savings, as the installation can be carried out correctly the first time
  • The tool is easy to adapt to different makes of membrane housings

ESA™

The ESA™ or Energy Saving ATD (Anti-Telescoping Device) is a technology that reduces power consumption of membrane filtration plants significantly.

Benefits

  • 10-40% reduction of the flow in the loops (energy savings)
  • Reduced need for cooling
  • Increased membrane area/capacity with the same installed power
  • Possibility of energy subsidies in some countries

SOFTWARE

VarioBoost power-saving software

The software optimizes the speed control of the booster pumps automatically, thereby achieving up to 50 % power savings. VarioBoost is an integral part of new Tetra Pak membrane filtration solutions.

Patent on the software is pending.

Benefits

  • The software helps the booster pumps run at the lowest possible speed without changing the performance of the membrane filtration plant
  • Reduced need for cooling, adding to the power saving
  • Longer membrane lifetime
  • Lower risk of telescoping of membranes, as the flow over the membranes is reduced

Green Flush

Green Flush is a highly resource-saving, software-based solution for effective flushing of a membrane filtration plant.
Compared to a traditional full plant flush, Green Flush reduces water consumption and the flow volume required for effective flushing.

Benefits

  • Reduced flushing time and resource usage by up to 40%, compared to a traditional full plant flush
  • Considerable reduction of wastewater discharge and effluent charges

TOOLS

Tetra Pak Membrane Scope

Membrane diagnostics has never been easier.
It is a first-of-its-kind diagnostic tool that provides visual confirmation as to the source of poor permeate quality/product loss in UF, NF, and RO spiral-wound dairy filtration systems.

By means of a waterproof recording video inspection camera and a 20-meter (60-feet) long probe the Tetra Pak Membrane Scope will visually identify the source of failure.

This procedure is performed while the system is in production mode, so a shut-down is not required. Tetra Pak Membrane Scope streamlines the diagnostic process and rapidly removes the uncertainty in identifying the failure source, which will lead to reduced costs associated with product loss, equipment down-time, operator intervention time, and unnecessary element replacement.

Tetra Pak ATD removal tool

The ATD removal tool allows operators to easily and safely remove an ATD from a spiral wound element without damaging the ATD or the element.

To operate, simply insert the ATD removal tool into the ATD, turn the handle clockwise to tighten the tool against the inside wall of the ATD, and then pull the tool handle outward to remove the ATD from the element/element permeate tube.

Highlights

  • Prevents damage to the ATD and element
  • Safe/easy operation

Tetra Pak Bubble Test Kit

Tetra Pak Bubble Test Kit provides the ability to determine the integrity of a spiral-wound element without performing an element autopsy. This streamlines the element warranty process, and allows plants to submit element warranty claims with certainty.

The kit is especially useful when used together with the Tetra Pak Membrane Scope to diagnose element failure/poor permeate quality.

Highlights

  • Determines the integrity of a spiral-wound element (i.e. does it leak or not)
  • Streamlines the element warranty process
  • Safe/easy operation
