To succeed in transforming the world's food systems we need to support the communities most in need. Whether that is indigenous people in our base material supply chains, the women, children and families dependent on informal waste collection or the communities surrounding our own production sites. We are helping to identify the most severe impacts on the most vulnerable people – and working with suppliers, customers, governments and civil society to address them.
By developing trusted and long-term relationships with local communities where we operate, we can help to accelerate change. We can support the resilience of local communities so that real benefits are delivered, and new opportunities arise.

Through the Dairy Hub Model, we’re improving the income of smallholder farmers, through the long-term supply of locally sourced, high-quality milk. Together with many stakeholders, we are contributing to SDGs 2, 8, 12, and 17 by creating jobs and increasing incomes for all people along our value chain.
We are proud to help protect people around the world where we operate through donations, such as €10 million towards COVID-19 relief efforts. We also donated significantly after bushfires devastated many parts of Australia in 2019. And in 2022, we started working with multiple humanitarian aid organizations to help people in Ukraine and refugees in neighbouring countries.

To help communities affected by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, in addition to local activities, we supply generators, especially for the rescue teams in night shifts, hospitals, and permanent shelters.
