First polyAl recycler in Arabia - STP
Recycled materials and applications
In 2019, Tetra Pak Arabia Area sustainability team identified the right partner for polyAl recycling and, in 2020, an agreement was signed with STP (Saudi Top Plastics). STP is one of the largest and most innovative plastic recyclers in the country, located in the Saudi capital of Riyadh. Alongside the initiative with OPI, this provides a local and complete recycling solution for all components of carton packages in Saudi Arabia.
Tetra Pak invested in an extrusion line; the new plant is on schedule to be operational in 2021. As with OPI, this investment is the first of its kind not only in Saudi Arabia but in the whole Arabian region.
