2. Assessment

Depending on your trial and objective, you have flexible options to conduct your work onsite at a Tetra Pak Product Development Centre (PDC) or Technology Development Centre (TDC) or opt for a hybrid approach that combines in-person engagement with remote monitoring. We can even perform the trial for you while you monitor progress and access real-time data remotely. For more localised or specific testing needs, renting a pilot mixer is an additional option.

3. The recipe

You come to us with your recipe. All your ingredients and recipes are handled with full confidentiality. From this point, our Food Technology Specialist will work closely with you, executing the trial on our state-of-the-art equipment. The Food Technology Specialist supervises the trial together with a processing expert.

4. Process optimisation

To get your product just right, you can access our prediction tool - software based on extensive research that works with our mixer. It’s vital to understand how your recipe is built up and interacts with the process. By helping you with the careful selection of mixing technology and parameters, our tool contributes to a successful premix or final product. This helps identify any necessary recipe modifications to find that perfect match.

5. Heat treatment

For tomato-based sauces, heat treatment focuses on optimising processing conditions and parameters for pasteurization or sterilisation. This helps you find the right heating technology to achieve desired taste, texture, mouthfeel, and product stability. All parameters are logged and visually monitored throughout trials, enabling aseptic packing for shelf-life studies, a key aspect of Tetra Pak’s advanced food production systems.

6. Evaluation

During the trial, we collect product samples from all parts of the process for analysis in our laboratory. We evaluate the results towards set trial objectives and to obtain important product data. The goal is to design the optimal commercial line to be installed on your site.

7. Documentation

All tests and results are documented in a trial report. We discuss the report together, ensuring you have understood the results and your expectations have been met.
