Food packaging plays an important role in feeding people, but if it is not collected and recycled, it can become waste. With global waste projected to rise by 70% by 2050, the shift from a “take-make-waste” model to a circular economy is urgent. Recycling is vital, but it starts with collection.
Through the One Second Action, Protect the Environment initiative, Tetra Pak works with communities to make carton collection a simple, everyday habit. From schools and workplaces to neighbourhood hubs and events, coordinated efforts keep cartons out of landfills and channel them into recycling, where they can be transformed into useful new products. When individuals, organisations, and industry work together, every carton collected is a step towards a more sustainable future.
The main objective of the campaign is to encourage community members to actively participate in recycling milk cartons. Through this initiative, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the vital role they play in the cycle of sorting – collecting – recycling, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and demonstrating how small, everyday actions can contribute to a more sustainable future.

Earth is enduring more than 1.3 billion tons of solid waste per year from cities all over the world, and it is expected to increase to approximately 2.2 tons per year by 2025. As the amount of waste continues to rise, sooner or later we will live on a landfill, where houses, streets, forests, sea water, and air,…will be drowned in rubbish. If we burn such a large amount of waste, it is even more polluting and we are going to breathe polluted air.
However, we can change the future with recycling!
Let us all participate in the “1 second of action, save our environment”. With our simple and easy actions , we can bring big positive change to the environment now!
By recycling, we can save energy, raw materials, production costs, as well as reduce environmental pollution and resource depletion.
Recycling 1 ton of paper can save:
✔ 17 trees
✔ 26m3 of water
✔ 318 liters of oil
✔ 4,000 kilowatts of electricity
The energy that you save can power 1 home for 5 months.
