We’ve been laying the foundation for exciting developments in the food and beverage industry that will support a more collaborative, circular future.

From understanding what consumers really want to finding ways to optimise dairy production, we’ve spent time investing in collaboration and innovation — and laying foundations that will help us turn bold ideas into meaningful actions.

Our recent actions have prioritised connecting people, innovations, and sustainable solutions – all to create a brighter future. Here’s a look at some of the highlights we hope to use as springboards for exciting developments in the future.

Staying ahead of consumer needs and expectations

Consumer preferences are changing faster than ever. To stay ahead, we’re turning to our Demand Spaces research, which is based on 78,000 interviews and 130,000 consumption occasions across 25 markets, seeking to uncover what consumers are looking for and help brands meet some unmet needs.

“Sustainability-minded consumers are inspiring us to rethink packaging – and we’re seeing exciting opportunities in emerging areas like biotics, alternative proteins and personalised nutrition.”

Our research reveals actionable insights into product categories, packaging preferences and habits that drive decisions. For example, sustainability-minded consumers are inspiring us to rethink packaging. We’re also seeing exciting opportunities in emerging areas like biotics, alternative proteins, and personalised nutrition.

With these insights, we continue striving to help brands stay relevant, adapt to trends and meet both the functional and emotional needs of today’s consumers. Curious about how we connect data to action? Read more about how we’re empowering the industry to meet demands today and shape tomorrow.

Transforming factories, reducing emissions

Food processing factories play a big role in meeting global needs, but they’re also resource-heavy, using 70% of the world’s fresh water. That’s why we’re helping producers cut their environmental impact with smarter solutions.

Our Factory Sustainable Solutions team expands technologies that use renewable energy, recover water, and reduce emissions. By collaborating with start-ups and using our own experts, we continue to develop solutions tailored to specific factory needs. From improving drying processes in powder production and cleaning-in-place systems that minimise water use to heat pumps that recycle waste heat, we’re making factories more efficient — and more cost-effective.

“By collaborating with start-ups and using our own experts, we are developing solutions tailored to specific factory needs.”

These solutions aren’t just for the big players — they’re designed to help even smaller businesses become more sustainable without investing more than necessary. Empowering communities through corporate volunteering

At Tetra Pak, we are always looking for new ways to give back, and to inspire our employees and colleagues to contribute to their communities. Around the world, our employees have been stepping up to make a difference by dedicating their time and talents to initiatives they’re passionate about — whether by planting trees, delivering food to those in need, or supporting local causes.

“In Switzerland, our teams recently planted 600 trees, which will absorb over 150 tonnes of CO2. In South Africa, we partnered with orphanages to deliver food and other essentials.”

In Switzerland, our teams recently planted 600 trees, which will absorb over 150 tonnes of CO₂. In South Africa, we partnered with orphanages to deliver food and other essentials. These efforts, and many more, reflect our commitment to meaningful action.

To take our impact further in the future, we’ve also formalised a global framework to guide volunteering so every effort aligns with local needs and makes a real difference. Learn more about how we’re empowering employees to
create a ripple effect of positive change in their communities

Decarbonising dairy production

The dairy industry is a vital source of nutrition, but it’s also a significant source of emissions. That’s why we’ve teamed up with DeLaval, a leader in dairy and farming solutions, to address the environmental challenges of dairy farming and processing.

Together, we’re working on everything from improving cow welfare to reducing emissions. DeLaval’s advanced herd management and predictive health systems are cutting emissions, increasing milk yields and reducing methane emissions. On the processing side, our team is helping factories implement innovative technologies to recover waste energy and reduce fossil-fuel reliance in processing.

We’re also collaborating through initiatives like the Dairy Processing Task Force and the Milk Sustainability Center to explore actionable insights and drive systemic change. Learn how we’re supporting farmers and producers
to create a more sustainable future for dairy without compromising on quality or nutrition.
