Since 2003, our school collection program has brought together students, parents, teachers and school administrators to collect and sort food and beverage cartons, helping students learn more about recycling and the value of keeping materials in use where collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure is in place.
Through hands-on participation, students can learn more about resource recovery and the role they play in supporting a more circular future.
Each year, public and private schools take part in a friendly interschool competition to collect the largest volume of food and beverage cartons. Participating schools can also redeem the volume of cartons they collected for educational activities and events that help bring environmental topics to life.
