Creating more secure and sustainable food systems

More than 800 million people are going hungry1, yet almost one third of food grown and produced is lost or wasted2.  Meanwhile conflict, weather extremes and economic shocks are causing production and supply chain issues that leave food systems vulnerable. By transforming how food is grown, produced and consumed, we can create secure, sustainable and resilient food systems.

Teaming up on food system transformation

For decades, our aseptic processing and packaging technology has made it possible to protect perishable foods, extending shelf life and enabling essential food access, even in remote corners of the world. We are collaborating across the food value chain to help transform food systems, focusing on increasing access to safe food, reducing food loss and waste and building sustainable food systems.

Driving circular solutions

To improve collection, sorting and recycling, we are collaborating with stakeholders across the recycling value chain – and we design our carton packages to increase the fibre content and use of recycled materials.

Decarbonising food systems

We are committed to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations by 2030, with a similar aspiration across our value chain by 2050 through a combination of reduction, mitigation and compensation measures.
