If you want to develop new protein powders or produce in small batches, why use expensive large-scale industrial dryers when more compact formats are available?
Our skid-mounted spray dryers operate as small-format industrial systems – giving you the process insight to scale up with confidence, without making a major capital commitment.
Understanding how a powder product behaves during drying – and how process conditions shape its properties – is vital before scaling production. Our dryers provide the residence time, stable droplet formation and controlled drying conditions needed to gather critical process data at small volumes.
Installation and operation are straightforward, with limited site scope and fast commissioning. Atomisation, airflow and residence time are on a par with larger units. This allows results to be translated directly to longer production runs, giving peace of mind where it matters most.
A unique spiral air distributor (SSAD) guides drying air in controlled downward spirals, creating a co-current airflow pattern. The SSAD combines with high-pressure nozzle atomisation to produce fine droplets that travel in full equilibrium with the airflow, even at small capacities. The elongated drying trajectory and extended residence time keep particle temperatures low, preserving sensitive components while achieving efficient moisture removal.
Optional multiple nozzle injection points and fines addition in the top zone promote mild agglomeration and support exploration of different powder behaviours. Solutions for slurries and shear-sensitive products are also available, along with air dehumidification and flexible energy supply for challenging formulations.
