Tetra Laval donates EUR 10 Million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Tetra Laval, the group which comprises Tetra Pak, Sidel and DeLaval is donating EUR 10 million to humanitarian aid in Ukraine and relief efforts in Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania (excluding Russia and Belorussia).

“We condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine and are deeply concerned by the war. It is tragic and terrible. The war is affecting our colleagues, friends, partners, suppliers, consumers, customers, and their families and friends. We stand with all of those who are impacted by the violence, and we join all parties calling for peace and an immediate ceasefire. We will continue to support humanitarian efforts locally in Ukraine and in Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania”, says Lars Renström, Chairman of the Tetra Laval Group.

Of this amount, EUR 3 million is being donated to reputable aid organisations such as UNICEF and Save The Children. Furthermore EUR 3 million is being allocated to secure safe food distribution for refugees, mainly in collaboration with Tetra Pak’s local customers. The Group will evaluate how the remaining EUR 4 million will be best utilised in support of Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees outside the country.

Tetra Pak operations in Russia restricted to essential food products such as milk and children's food; suspending new investments and projects

Tetra Pak condemns the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This tragic and terrible war is affecting our colleagues, friends, partners, suppliers, consumers, customers and their families and friends. We stand with all those impacted by the violence, and we join the many voices calling for an immediate ceasefire and for Ukraine to remain a sovereign and democratic state.

Our first priority continues to be the safety of all our employees and their families in Ukraine, offering them both practical and financial support where needed.

We are greatly dismayed by the difficulties encountered to make food safely available to the Ukrainian population. We will continue to do our utmost to support customers in Ukraine and neighbouring countries with their endeavours to make essential supplies available. We are offering further support through humanitarian donations to assist Ukrainian civilians and refugees.

We have suspended all new investments and projects in Russia and reduced production, while respecting the basic right of all people to access safe food. We are therefore restricting our operations to essential food products such as milk and children’s food and will maintain these activities for as long as it is practically possible.

In addition to the EUR 10 million already donated,  all our earnings in Russia will be contributed to humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
