Preparing a carton for recycling in simple steps! ​

 

Our food and beverage cartons, including the straws or caps, are intended and designed for recycling, with consideration given to the full product life cycle.


Simply push the straw back in or keep the cap on the carton package after drinking, then Flip-Flap-Flat the carton before sending it for recycling. This helps reduce the amount of space the empty carton takes up and makes transportation more efficient.

Recycle Easy

Recycle Easy is a one-stop site that helps interested individuals, businesses and schools identify collection points for our food and beverage cartons. Designed with a user-friendly interface, the platform makes it easier for consumers to access information and take part in food and beverage cartons recycling.

 

Check your local recycling facilities. There might be a recycling station nearby, or a street collection system in your neighborhood. If such facilities exist but are not yet accepting food and beverage cartons when you visit, add them to our Recycle Easy map, we'll get in touch with them! 

 

 We may be able to work with them and the local authorities to improve food and beverage cartons recycling access in your neighborhood.

Waste Separation at Source

Under the waste separation at source scheme implemented under Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007 (Act 672) which is enforced in the following states and Federal Territories: Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Kedah and Perlis, food and beverage cartons are categorised under the recyclables – within the ‘Paper’ category.

What can recycled cartons become?

After collection and sorting, cartons are loaded in a pulper and blended with water to separate the paper from the polymers and aluminium. The paper fibres are then cleaned, pressed, dried, and formed into paper rolls before becoming paper bags, packaging paper, cardboard boxes and more. Meanwhile, the polymers and aluminium are extracted, cleaned, shredded, and hot-pressed into panel boards and roofing sheet.
