Why standard steel won’t suffice for dairy separators

For separators made of ordinary grades of stainless steel, the use of lye or acid for cleaning-in-place can make a caustic or acidic combination with milk deposits that is damaging in the long run. For lower total cost of ownership over the equipment’s decades-long life, higher steel grades are a better investment.

Tetra Pak® Bactofuge

Tetra Pak® Bactofuge

Units for removal of spores and bacteria or concentration of protein


Traditionally incorporated in the pre-treatment of cheese milk, where typically butter acid spores (Anaerobic spores) are removed. Bactofuge units are also used to enhance the quality of powders, consumption milk and cream where typically aerobic spores (e.g. Bacillus Cerus) are removed.


Capacity: 5,000 l/h to 55,000 l/h

Milk, Whey & Beverage clarification


• Tetra Pak® Clarifier can be used to process both hot and cold milk. Most efficient reduction of leucocytes and bacteria achieved at 50-60 deg. Celsius.

• Centrifugal clarifier upstream of the whey separator is the most efficient way to remove cheese fine lines for optimum fat separation and long run times.

• Excellent reduction of product turbidity and removal of impurities for beverage clarification


Capacity: 15,000 l/hr to 70,000 l/hr
