At Tetra Pak, we believe that even the smallest actions can create lasting change when embraced by communities. Through our initiative “One Second of Action, Protect the Environment”, we inspire individuals to make simple yet meaningful choices — from reusing appliances and recycling cartons to reducing waste in daily life. By working together, these small steps become powerful contributions towards protecting our planet, strengthening communities, and shaping a more sustainable future for everyone.
As part of the “One Second of Action, Protect the Environment” initiative, Tetra Pak calls on communities to join hands in building a greener, cleaner future. Small actions can have a significant impact, which is why we actively collaborate with environmental associations and community groups across Vietnam to expand public collection points. These locations make it easier for consumers to return used milk cartons for recycling, turning everyday consumption into a positive environmental contribution.
Today, the programme has grown to cover more than 1,000 schools, 100+ retail points, and 150+ community collection points across Vietnam. By creating a wide and accessible network, we are making it simpler for families and individuals to participate in carton collection and recycling.
Beyond establishing collection infrastructure, the initiative also encourages households to sort and return used milk and beverage cartons from home. By engaging communities directly, we help reduce waste, minimise litter, and build sustainable habits for the future.
Once collected, cartons are transported by our collection partners and delivered to recycling partners located in both the North and South of Vietnam, ensuring broad recycling capacity nationwide. At these facilities, used cartons are given a valuable second life — being recycled into kraft paper and tissue paper. PolyAl end-products have already been successfully commercialised in other countries. In Vietnam, they are currently under research and development, pointing to future innovations in sustainable recycling.
