How can the dairy sector participate in the transition to more sustainable food systems?

How can the dairy sector decarbonise while securing its economic, nutritional, and social viability? This pathway paper addresses these crucial questions, outlining the key challenges ahead and the need for urgent action to meet the aspiration of dairy net zero by 2050. It examines how policy, technology, financing and partnerships can drive and enable the transition. It argues that transformation is possible through collective actions across the value chain, and presents some of the available mechanisms that can help policymakers, businesses and consumers contribute to achieving it.

The world needs to decarbonise and provide sufficient and healthy nutrition to feed the growing global population.
