What is Integrity Testing?

Integrity testing is an equipment assessment service that locates hard-to-detect potential problems such as microscopic cracks, gap, pitting and crevice corrosion, or erosion within critical equipment such as heat exchangers (plate, tubular and scraped surface) of all brands. It can also apply to line connection and valve checking.

Why is integrity testing crucial to equipment maintenance?

Equipment breakdown can lead to severe disruptions within a plant. Integrity Testing of critical production pipelines such as coil heat exchanger, scraper heat exchanger, horizontal aseptic tank and valve clusters, help to reduce the potential of leakage problems within these equipment.

Integrity testing can help prevent losses due to leakage and contamination

Quality incidents are one of the last things you want to hear when you're working in a food and beverage manufacturing site. Leakage is one of the common failures in the operation of fluid production equipment. The combination of the two will often bring incalculable losses to the enterprise!

Locate cracks in complex equipment efficiently with Integrity Testing

Locating cracks, sometimes thinner than a hair breadth, is a difficult and complicated task, made even more complex due to the density of parts, the difficulty of disassembling and assembling them, or the fact that the interior space is often too small for manual inspection.

Why choose Tetra Pak Integrity Testing?

We harness reliability-centered maintenance methodology to help your business

With many options available, how can you tell if Tetra Pak Integrity Testing is right for you? Learn more about the benefits of Tetra Pak Integrity Testing:

Quick

  • Quick preparation: No need for disassembly; simply drain heat exchanger before test
  • Quick test: Integrity testing takes as little as 15 minutes per section, even for units with limited or difficult access. Test detection results allow for adjustments to be made to production schedules.
  • Swift resumption of production: No extra cleaning steps required following a test - the medium does not adhere to surfaces or porous materials.

Safe

  • Non-destructive integrity testing (internal and external): A 100% inert medium is used in a testing procedure that does not excessively stress equipment gaskets.
  • Safe gas medium: Hydrogen is used as tracer gas in a safe, non-flammable (ISO 10156 international standard) gas mix with no environmental impact.
  • Documented result: Auditable test results and certification.

Accurate

  • Highly sensitive and accurate testing method: Closed loop circulation combined with highly sensitive sensors enable accuracy even at low testing pressures – holes as small as 1 μm can be detected in a 0.6 mm plate.
  • Accurate testing equipment: The fully automated and computer-controlled equipment enables accuracy in testing, logging and analyses.
