Tetra Pak Pakistan concludes ‘We’ve Got Your Back’ health and safety campaign

Tetra Pak Pakistan recently held the closing ceremony of the global We’ve Got Your Back occupational health and safety campaign at its Lahore head office. The event brought together more than 50 colleagues to reinforce the importance of workplace safety, physical health, and overall wellbeing.

The campaign began on 8th September and concluded on 8th October, encouraging colleagues to take practical steps to improve their health and safety in everyday life. The closing ceremony also provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of mental health and wellbeing ahead of World Mental Health Day, observed globally on 10 October.

Speaking to colleagues at the closing ceremony, Salman Ghulam Ali reaffirmed Tetra Pak’s commitment to protecting the health and safety of its employees, contractors, visitors and others who may be affected by its operations.

The event was led by Baqar Raza, HR Country Manager, Pakistan, Salman Ghulam Ali, Director CSO Middle East (Customer Service Operations) EMEA, Bisma Tariq, OHS Consultant and Qazi Yasiruddin, OHS Regional Manager EMEA. Simon Shepard joined the campaign as the global speaker, sharing the wider campaign perspective and reinforcing the importance of building a strong health and safety culture across the organisation.

Speaking to colleagues at the closing ceremony, Salman Ghulam Ali reaffirmed Tetra Pak’s commitment to protecting the health and safety of its employees, contractors, visitors and others who may be affected by its operations.

“We are committed to ensuring the occupational health and safety of our employees, contractors, visitors and anyone who may be affected by our operations. Our goal is to maintain a safe and healthy environment and continually reduce accidents and work-related ill health,” he said.

The We’ve Got Your Back campaign focused on practical actions that colleagues can incorporate into their daily routines to support their physical health and wellbeing. One of its key messages was the importance of staying active and finding opportunities to move more throughout the day. Regular movement can help improve physical health and wellbeing, particularly for people whose work involves spending long periods sitting at a desk or in one position.

The focus of the campaign, wellbeing, also connects with the broader message of World Mental Health Day, observed worldwide on 10th October. The day aims to raise awareness of mental health issues and mobilise efforts to support mental health. It provides an opportunity for individuals, organisations and other stakeholders to reflect on the work being done and consider what more is needed to make mental health care accessible to people around the world.

The campaign serves as a reminder that health and safety are shared responsibilities. By making safer choices, adopting healthy habits and creating an environment where people feel supported and heard, everyone can contribute to a healthier and safer workplace.
