Paper is not only a renewable material. Since paper fibers can be reused about seven times, it’s safe to say that when it comes to durable materials, carton tops the charts. Once recycled, the material can be turned into new products like cereal boxes, tissues and writing paper. Even corrugated cardboard for packing goods.

Today in Estonia, carton packages can be collected through the common municipal system or be brought to the common packaging collection point. Make sure the package is empty, flattened and put in the correct bin. To get an understanding of which specific sorting rules applies to your region, check with your local municipality.

Ensuring a higher level of circularity is one of the best ways of lowering the environmental footprint of packaging. Besides innovating renewable and recyclable products, we at Tetra Pak are constantly working to improve the infrastructure for recycling in cities and countries all over the world.

Developing sustainable recycling value chains is one of four key areas we are focusing on in the years to come. By 2030, we want to have reached net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our own operations.
