Hear from our collection partners, waste banks, cafés and businesses on why they joined the recycling movement, and how they have benefited from taking part.
We were introduced to the beverage cartons collection program through awareness sessions by YAPSI team, supported by the Malang District Environmental Agency (DLH). Since February 2011, we have been actively collecting beverage cartons and raising awareness. We collect materials from local communities, businesses, universities, and MBG kitchens. The collaboration has been running well and has delivered benefits.
We have actively collected UBC since November 2024, after a socialisation session from YAPSI, organized by the Kediri District Environmental Agency (DLH). Through our partnership with YAPSI, we have received training, basic necessities and PPE, as well as additional income to support TPS3R operations. Going forward, we are committed to expanding collection, with current sources coming from households, schools, and MBG kitchens beyond the sub-district.
As part of our sustainability commitment at FINNS Beach Club, we continuously improve waste management through better and more responsible sorting practices, including the dedicated separation of beverage cartons for proper recycling. In collaboration with ecoBali, we ensure that sorted materials are effectively processed, helping reduce landfill waste, minimize environmental impact, and support a circular economy. We believe sustainability is built through consistent daily actions, and through strong internal commitment and partnerships, we aim to create a positive impact and inspire the hospitality industry in Bali to contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
BSIL creates significant positive impact by educating the public and café partners in Malang on waste management, starting from milk cartons to other recyclable materials. This education helps improve waste sorting and supports the recycling of inorganic waste, while also building a network of participants engaged in the program. At the same time, BSIL supports local livelihoods and benefits economically.
From a social perspective, our café has now become a collaborative space that attracts many students to conduct research while supporting this movement. In addition, this program has successfully increased awareness and traffic on our social media, which indirectly generates positive economic impact through greater public exposure (brand exposure) to our café.
