With ten certified production sites worldwide, we use certified recycled polymers1 in selected caps, tops, and coatings, across our portfolio. And we plan to go further by increasing the use of responsibly sourced, renewable content, and recycled polymers in our carton packages.
We have introduced the Tetra Brik® Aseptic 200 Slim Leaf carton with a paper-based barrier, that is a first within food carton packages distributed under ambient conditions.
Our portfolio of plant-based carton packages features responsibly sourced, renewable materials like paperboard and sugarcane polymers used for caps, protective layers and coatings – all from certified, responsibly managed and controlled sources.

Our paper-based carton packages are already recyclable where adequate collection, sorting and recycling infrastructures are in place. In places where collection infrastructure is still being built up, we’re co-investing with recyclers in new equipment and facilities to increase recycling capacity.
Tethered caps can help reduce litter and improve recycling rates. Compared to loose caps, tethered caps stay attached to the package, making them easier to sort and recycle. Since 2019, we've delivered over 3 billion tethered caps, and we continue to innovate with plant-based options made from sugarcane-based polymers and certified recycled polymers.
Largely made from paperboard sourced from Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) forests and other controlled sources, paper straws contribute to reducing packaging emissions2 and plastic litter by replacing fossil-based plastics. Now available as U-shaped and telescopic variants for a variety of portion-sized beverage cartons, including Tetra Brik® Aseptic and Tetra Prisma® Aseptic packages. The FSC license code for Tetra Pak is FSC™ C014047.
We refurbish previously used Tetra Pak machinery to improve the circularity of our equipment, adhering to high-quality standards. From restoring missing parts, to upgrades, and mitigating corrosion. With an electron beam that replaces traditional sterilisation methods, the Tetra Pak® E3/Speed Hyper is not only the highest speed aseptic carton filler in the industry, but it’s highly efficient. It cuts chemical usage by 99%, and water consumption by up to 45%. Plus, without the need for H2O2 preheating, heating, and drying, energy consumption is reduced by one third3.
