Background and initiative – recycling the entire carton for more end products

Euro Techo sought to recycle polyAl1 to create valuable end-products like roof tiles and flat sheets while expanding their capacity and market reach. With support from Tetra Pak, Euro Techo successfully transformed its recycling operations to produce shoe soles made from 100% recycled fibre from Tetra Pak cartons.

Results – more equipment, diversified product range

In 2014, they invested in four hot presses to manufacture roof tiles using the polyAl from carton recycling. With exceptional thermal and permeability properties, the roof tiles gained high demand in Mexico, particularly in poultry and pig farms. Additionally, flat sheets produced from recycled polyAl found applications in the construction and furniture industries.

Euro Techo's commitment to recycling and innovative production methods led to several impacts. The company expanded its product range to include shoe soles, tissue paper, roof tiles, and flat sheets, catering to various industries with sustainable solutions. With an installed capacity of 3,000 tons of packaging, Euro Techo produces 10,500 roof tiles and flat sheets per year.

Looking ahead – further collaboration for continued expansion

Tetra Pak collaborates with Euro Techo to promote their products and expand their market presence to different regions in Mexico, capitalising on the product’s demand and versatility.

Euro Techo has plans to acquire a second paper machine, further increasing their capacity and recycling capabilities. Tetra Pak will continue collaborating with Euro Techo to explore new market opportunities, aiming to expand their reach to other parts of Mexico and foster sustainable practices in the region.
