Why plant-based materials?

The main material in our packages is paperboard. Paperboard is a renewable material, made from wood from sustainable FSC®-certified forests and other controlled sources. The FSC licence code for Tetra Pak is FSC C014047. Globally recognised as the highest certification standard for forest management, the FSC logo helps you identify brands that are committed to sustainable forestry. That's why we ask our customers to display its logo on their packages. Since the introduction of the FSC label on our first package in 2007, we have produced over 500 billion FSC-labelled packages. We are further increasing the renewable content of our packages by expanding the offering of plant-based caps and laminate in our packaging material to reduce our carton footprint.
