After a stop, when packages are queuing up on the line, the speed of this machine is increased up to 30% in order to compensate for lost time and restore a normal package flow.

The application wheel cuts the straw film and applies the straw to the moving package. Since packages move smoothly through the applicator without stopping, the risk of package damage is minimal.

The applicator can easily be adapted to apply a different straw, or to match any package size available in the filling machine's QuickChange range. A skilled operator can make the necessary adjustments in 15 minutes.
Hot melt application on film
Accurate positioning of straws and low glue consumption
By applying hot melt directly to the film around the straw instead of onto the package surface, the straw is positioned correctly every time and glue consumption is minimal.

Bent foil treater
For increased straw adhesion
Heating and flattening out the film around the straws before they are applied to the packages, the bent foil treater ensures better adhesion between the film and the package.
Optional for Tetra Pak A3/Flex and CompactFlex lines; compulsory for Tetra Pak A3/Speed lines.
Straw Detector 30
Minimises stops downstream
The straw detector recognises and immediately rejects any package which does not have a straw, or which has an incorrectly placed straw. This prevents problems occurring downstream.
The Straw Detector is an integrated part of the equipment for Tetra Pak A3/Speed lines whilst it remains optional for Tetra Pak A3/Flex lines.
