Radial jet mixer technology

Ultra-effective mixing with high energy efficiency

The radial jet mixer nozzle forces liquid at high speed into the tank and creates turbulence for agitation. This avoids the disadvantages of a mechanical agitator, which increases air incorporation​ to create foaming. Particles do not sink and collect at the bottom because of the turbulence created by the nozzle. It’s also reassuring to know that the nozzle does not create high shear. This helps to preserve product quality.

Injector technology

Immediate wetting at point of entry

Wetting of powders begins immediately in the injector. The unique design allows us to create a vacuum due to the Venturi effect, so ingredients are sucked into the mixer at the point of entry. When powder is poured into the top of a tank, undissolved powder can sink to the bottom and lead to clogging over time. Our innovative injector and radial jet mixer technology avoid clogging and enable fast in-feed of powder and liquids.

Dissolves ingredients independently from the main batch

It may be advantageous to dissolve ingredients independently from the main batch, for instance to avoid unwanted reactions. A pre-mix recirculation loop allows this without requiring a separate pre-mix vessel. The loop, powered by a booster pump, independently recirculates over the feeding hopper without interfering with the main mixing tanks. This allows preparation of small batches by simply using the feeding hopper as a vessel.

Auto mixing device

Handle challenging ingredients like gums – and cut energy use

An auto mixing device (AMD) is a cost-effective and energy-efficient alternative to a high shear pump when dissolving challenging ingredients like gums, stabilisers and thickeners. Our AMD can handle gum concentrations of up to 1% at 20°C that traditionally would require a high shear pump. The AMD consumes 60% less energy than a high shear pump and has a much lower investment cost.

ERS dust extraction and recovery system

Dust recovery for lower product losses and a safe work environment

The patented ERS dust extraction and recovery system removes and recovers all airborne dust with no filter waste or filter maintenance requirement. By recovering the estimated 0.8% of powder typically lost to dust it reduces product waste and can considerably reduce the sums lost to waste over time.

Tetra Pak® Radial Jet Mixer T

Homogenous mixing of viscous ingredients

When handling viscous, fibrous or pulpy ingredients up to 200 cP batch viscosity or if special tank geometries are given. A Tetra Pak® Radial Jet Mixer T can be fitted.  
This option is 50% more energy-efficient than a single-stage nozzle. It is beneficial for mixing ingredients with floating or sinking particles, such as fibres, pulps and high volumes of sticky concentrates or dry powders.
