Just dump in lumps
No manual breaking of lumps needed
Taurine is a prime example of a powder that tends to form lumps during storage but there are also other examples such as dextrose and fructose.
Lumps tend to clog up the system. With this unit, there is no need for manual handling to break up lumps. Just dump them into the tank through the hatch opening. The radial jet mixer technology we provide is able to wet these lumps and dissolve them quickly. Therefore, rough handling of lumps to crush them can be avoided.
Suitable for gums, thickeners and stabilisers
Save energy when dissolving gums
Undissolved dry capsules of powder known as “fish eyes” are typically found when dissolving powders like stabilisers, thickeners or gums if they are not wetted properly. With Tetra Pak® Ingredients Dissolver, the lumps become completely dissolved. There is no need for a high shear mixing device to dissolve these challenging ingredients, saving you energy and a higher initial investment cost in equipment.
Smart water handling
Complex recipes require careful use of water
The amount of water you can add is limited if you have a number of ingredients to dissolve one by one. So, a careless usage of water in these early steps can lead to recipe challenges down the production line as there might not be enough water left to add for the final flushes. But now there is a smarter way of handling water. The small batch size of Tetra Pak® Ingredients Dissolver requires only a small amount of water each time so you can avoid adding too much water in the pre-dissolving steps.
One pump – three functions
Fewer components mean simpler maintenance
One frequency driven pump is used for mixing, product transfer to downstream equipment and CIP discharge. This reduces the need for maintenance to one major component. There is no agitator or other moving parts to be replaced inside the tank in case of wear or physical damage. All that’s needed to drive the unit is one external pump. What’s more, the entire unit, especially the pump, is easily accessible for maintenance at ground level.

Ever wanted to test radial jet mixing on a small scale? The 250-litre batch size of this small unit makes it ideal for research purposes to test new recipes. This unit is your opportunity to give radial jet mixing a whirl, perhaps before investing in a larger radial jet mixer such as Tetra Pak® Radial Jet Mixer S or T for installation in tanks or the batch mixers Tetra Pak® Mixer RJCI 4X or Tetra Pak® Mixer RJCI B. Think of this small unit as a stand-alone pilot mixing tank.

Suction spear
Fast emptying without heavy lifting
We see a clear trend in the industry moving away from small ingredient packaging formats. These sizes are becoming less attractive for beverage manufacturers due to efficiency and waste reasons. More and more, we see a shift to bigger package formats like bulk bags that are too heavy to be lifted by operators and demand alternative ergonomic solutions. Our spear allows you to aspirate powders by suction in a similar way to how a vacuum cleaner works. This means no more lifting of heavy bags and less powder dust. The spear works for both wet and dry applications and empties bags from ground level.
Venturi-driven injector
No clogging with our injector technology
Clogging is a familiar challenge with certain powders including gums, thickeners and stabilisers. Our patented injector that is an integral part of the optional suction spear revolutionises the dissolving process because it has a special geometry combined with a vacuum. The circulating liquid stream inside the tank is formed so that both dry and wet ingredients are enveloped by liquid immediately on entry. This prevents product from settling and clumping contributing to a fully homogeneous dissolved product.
Washing function
For fast rinsing of jerry cans
As an option when emptying jerry cans, a small arm with water jets can be connected to the water supply line and installed inside the tank. The water supply can be controlled with a manual valve. This “washing function” allows barrels or jerry cans to be washed out directly after emptying. It means that product residues can be rinsed off and the barrel or jerry can is emptied completely in a shorter time. This option also reduces any losses of valuable ingredients.
